To assure their values live on past their own lifetimes, many folks choose to make a gift to Starcross in their wills. Gifts can be made in many forms. If you would like to remember Starcross in your will, please contact Sister Julie at sj@starcross.org.
Our olive trees are a source of tranquility and strength on our farm. Their silvery green leaves, smooth trunks, and quiet rustling soothe us daily. It seems fitting to us that these trees be shared with others in as many ways as possible. One way we “share” our trees is by dedicating a tree to the honor or memory of those who have gone before us.
If you would like to memorialize a loved one in this way, please complete our Olive Tree Dedication Form.

For many years, supporters have asked how they can help meet Starcross's day-to-day needs. Sister Julie's Wishlist is a simple way to support the life and work of the community through practical items that help sustain our programs and stewardship of the land. Every gift, large or small, helps Starcross continue to be a sanctuary for people and nature.
Our goal is to start growing enough produce to give some away at our Food Pantry. To do this, we need items like a row cover ($62), a broad hoe and hula hoe ($55), a soaker hose ($90), an earthway seeder ($180), and trellis materials like wire fencing ($200) and T posts ($150). Cover one item or them all!
Our helpful fence that protects our plants from the hungry deer is falling apart after decades of wear and tear. To repair it, we need around 32 fence posts at $52 each. Every fence post purchased helps maintain the entire structure!
Much of our equipment is old and breaking down. Purchasing a new chainsaw ($250) and weed whacker ($300) would be a big help. But if you have a functioning gas-powered version of either of these items that you’re not using much anymore, we’d happily accept it. We’re also on the hunt for a wood chipper to use as we increase the management of our forest. Do you have one you’d like to donate or would you be willing to cover the cost?
To exhibit our shows featuring Sister Julie’s photographs and a history of Starcross at a local arts center, we needed to purchase around 150 picture frames! Helping to offset this cost would be a big help.
An aerator would improve the soil health of our olive groves. We’re always trying to give our trees the best chance we can at helping to produce the healthiest, most delicious olive oil.
